The UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and France signed the Treaty of Brussels.
Sometimes referred to as the Brussels Pact, the treaty revolved around organizing economic and military cooperation between the signing members. It also included a mutual defense clause, which led directly to the North Atlantic Treaty and the founding of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
